About the festival

Pražské Znění – festival of new-age music

International Meeting of artists and interprets interested in aliquot singing and new-age forms of alternative music is being arranged by the People‘ s association Tashi Deley and Austrian musician and performer Chris Amrhein.

The Festival takes place on st. Cyril a Metodej, Karlínské nám. Prague 8, st. Simon and Juda Prague 1 and DDM Spektrum Karlínské nám Prague 8 from 1st to 4th of September 2005.

The target groups of the festival Pražské Znění (Prague Sound) are students and pedagogues of music schools, skilled public, young people interested in alternative music and spiritual building-up, and lots of friends of aliquot singing from Bohemia and Europe.

The goals of the festival are:

  • to create space for international meeting of people interested in new directions in alternative music
  • to present the aliquot singing to the public, to show it’s heterogeneity and place in the music (classical, ethnic and alternative)
  • to introduce the artists and bands interested in different voice techniques from the traditions of olden days cultures
  • to introduce the ethnics using the aliquot singing to the public
  • to help with creating new contacts and information exchange between the interprets, bands and projects
  • to create a new culture tradition on City district of Prague 5

During the festival will take par concerts and improvisated appearances of bands and interprets from Europe and all around the world.

For those who are interested in techniques of aliquot singing, playing alternative music instruments, it’s manufacture and use, we offer several seminars with reputable lectors.
